If I were you and you were me,
If we swapped bodies would it help us to see?
Would it help us to know where we are all going wrong?
And that the earth is a place where we all belong
If I were black and you were white,
Would it teach us to love and not fight?
Would we find that it’s not the shade of our skin,
But what we have to share, what comes from within?
Then maybe the wars would cease for a day,
And then we’d all start to try and repay,
The damage we’ve done over so many years,
And stop all the harsh and painful tears,
If all of our anger could be combined,
to fuel positive thoughts to help mankind,
Then all over the world, we could make a fresh start,
Just to speak with one voice and love with one heart.
