Death's Song

Death’s Song

As death rose from his murky grave,
He then began to sing,
A dreadful sound that filled the ears,
Of every living thing.

He swept across the dying grass,
And where ever death went,
All the grass and all the trees,
Were murky grey and bent.

Death's song floated on and on,
It passed dark hills then reached the town,
And the people screamed and blocked their ears,
They were straggling or lying down.

Death's song of malice, horror and hate,
Ended after a day,
And after the apocalyptic song was sung,
Death retreated and went away.
