Endless
By Lauren Irvine
For the endless plains of time, I part,
There is no end, there is no start.
With love and loss I come face to face,
But soon they are gone without a trace.
Forever I will walk while others fall down,
But in my sorrow, I know, I cannot drown.
Men and women may crave immortality,
But I will give anything to be free.
I have no doings deserving of this torture,
I have no knowing of how much more I can endure.
For those who chose to further enquire,
To be spared from life is what I truly desire.
