Just Comparing

Bare, dry, landscape,
Hot, blistering sun,
Weak, skinny flocks,
Wilting, thirsty trees,
Dehydrated, red soil.

Full, moist, countryside,
Refreshing, breezy air,
Alive, thriving crops,
Content, fresh atmosphere,
Damp washing on the line.

A life of green and wet,
A life with too much to do,
A life without worry,
A life without water,
Drought turn your back,
Leave the countryside’s fresh face.
