Imprisoned in a cage,
Like an animal.
Trapped in a cell,
Not moving, not speaking, not singing, not saying.
He is a bird without a song
He is a prisoner without a voice.
He lies there with no expression
In his icy, wet bed.
Water drips from the ceiling
But no one is there to hear
No one is there to see
No one is there to care
He is a lion without strength,
A hawk without eyes,
A man without a life.
He waits beckoning, begging, longing
For his freedom.
The judge has decided his fate
It is to reside in this hell.
He still wishes, he hopes
But secretly knows
That he will reside in prison,
Forever.
And no one is there to hear
No one is there to see
No one is there to care
