Lessons Of Life

Dedicated to My Father, Bruce John Lowry.

Here is what you taught me, the day you passed away.
I learnt that life is not easy; it’s a struggle and a fight.
There are good times, there are bad times,
Times when nothing will go right,
I learnt not to rely on others,
I must stand firm and strong, alone.
I can’t let people get too close; I must be on my own.
It hurts less that way and all I do, is save myself more pain.
Some may call me a cynic, for I’ve lost faith in life and love,
If there’s a god, then he doesn’t care, but who’s to say he’s even there?
I used to dance and jump with joy, but then one day you passed away.
I missed you then, I miss you now.
But the lessons you taught have never failed.
I may be a cynic and I know I’m harsh,
But when you passed away Daddy,
You stole my heart.
