Pass You By.

I sit alone a weeping,
In my rusty metal shack,
The dirt of the desert in my eyes.
My family is dying,
And all I’m doin’ is crying.
But the lives of all of us just pass you by.

No food to feed my brothers,
No bed to call my own,
The well, once full of water, almost dry.
The governments are fighting,
And the hunger pains are biting.
But the lives of all of us just pass you by.

My daughter’s eyes are blinded,
My son just struggles on,
On the hard ground, awake at night I lie.
My children’s toy, a bombshell,
There’s no world outside this living hell.
But the lives of all of us just pass you by.
The sun has scorched the fields,
Like the grass my life does burn,
My daughter cannot understand why.
We must stay with one another,
Keep our fears deep under cover.
But the lives of all of us just pass you by.

The days are getting longer,
The nights are getting cold,
My neighbour’s youngest brother did just die.
How long before it’s my turn,
There is a lesson you must learn.
But the lives of all of us just pass you by.

My family is dying
And all I’m doin’ is crying
But the lives of all of us just pass you by.
