In this war I’m a solider
No turning back from here
Cold and alone
Writing a letter to my dear
When will people learn?
War is not and ending
Sick of playing around
It’s time to stop pretending
I miss the people I love
There with me more when I’m alone
I still know they think of me
Even when I’m 1000 miles from home
I hope I’m making them proud
Hope I draw more smiles then tears
I’m here to protect everything I’d die for
I’m fighting despite worries, despite fears
They handed me a gun
Told me who to kill
Threw me into a hole
These big shoes I had to fill
At night, I’ll gaze at the stars
One of the things that keeps me sane
I can’t stand to see another moment
This world of hurt and maim
I’ll wait until the day
The day this comes to an end
I’ll see the people I love once more
No more letters to send
But until then I’ll be here
Missing what used to be
Remembering my home town
Thinking of what has become of me...
