Just Imagine
As I walk through the rain forest
I hear the symphony of the wind
And the cricket,
The harmony of the shimmering leaves,
The hint of a frog’s croak.
I walk past a waterfall
Water pounding against the ragged mossy rocks.
Occasionally a lace monitor runs past me.
Out of the corner of my eye
I see luminous trees
Blocking all light to the wet soggy ground.
But where I walk
Just enough light is coming from the gaping cracks
Between the trees.
