Flowers danced so gracefully, their petals warm with sun,
I admired nature’s beauty, as I sat beneath the old gum.
The trees whispered secrets, the birds swooped and soared,
With this beautiful landscape around me, I could never grow bored.
The insect life was a marvel, especially a beautiful butterfly,
Surrounded by all these wonders, I just watched the world go by.
So as I gazed at the outdoor world, Mother Nature at her best,
I wondered if perhaps she had, set us all a test.
A test to prove that we deserve all the wonderful things we’ve got,
The birds, the sky, the insects, our pets, the whole important lot.
And sitting there beside the tree, with nature displayed in front of me,
I thought that maybe, just being there, and admiring the view,
I had done what she had wanted me to do.
