Before the moon rises, the world sits in silent contemplation
A twilight; an end to the day; a hail to the night.
Water laps quietly, bringing with it memories of another day.
Far over the horizon, the fading sun leaves us for the night,
Even waves tell a story, one violent, yet filled with sorrow.
As the world darkens, so the waves begin their approach.
Night overcomes the shore while the moon rises in all its glory.
The luminescent disk pulls water to sky, creating transient walls
Moving with deliberate intensity, they crash in on themselves.
It's beauty threatens to mesmerise all,
Even as its peril threatens to wrap all in its embrace.
