The Flood

“Where nearly there!” Says mum. “I can’t wait till we get to Walpole,” I say. It will be so much fun! “I can’t wait either,” says Chloe. I hope we get a good camping spot. “Where here,” says dad. I jump out of the car. Chloe found a good spot and dad got the tents out of the car, and set them up. I put my bathers on and jumped in the lake. Chloe set her tent up and unpacked her things then she dived in as well. Mum and dad were watching Chloe and I when suddenly we pulled them in. After a few hours of being in the lake we got cold and got out. I got changed and went for a walk around with mum and Chloe. We walked along the waters edge. We walked back and had lunch. “For lunch we will have baked beans,” said dad. When I had finished I went in my tent for a nap. When I woke up it was dinnertime. We had more baked beans. After dinner I found a piece of long rope and tied one side to a tree. At the other side of the rope I tied a big not. Then I held on to the rope and swung really high and jumped of into the lake. I swum back to shore and got Chloe. After a while we got board. We put our pyjamas and went to my tent to listen to the radio. On the radio a man said that there was going to be a flood in Walpole. Chloe and I were very scared. We went to mum and dads tent and told them what the man said on the radio. Mum and dad were very concerned. That night we all slept near our life jackets. In the morning we woke up and we stepped out of the tent. When my foot touched the ground I became really cold. I looked down and I was standing in water. There was water everywhere! I ran to Chloe, mum and dad. When I had told them what happened they all came out side. “There’s water everywhere!” said mum and dad at the same time. Chloe was stunned. We ran around packing all our things up. We put it all in the car and when I went
To wheel the barbeque over I realised that
The washing bucket was over the drain and
The camp tap had been left on. I walked over
To mum, dad and Chloe and said “ you do
Realise that the tap has been left on!” they all froze and turned around. “What?” mum said? I told them again. They all took a beep sigh. Dad said well we have packed up now and our time here is nearly out so why don’t we just go home now. We all agreed so off we went. Mum said well I hope that the next place we go there is no taps!
