The End Of 'Skool'

Beep, beep, beep, the school bells ring signifying the end of school
Everyone rushes out to the bus lines as quick as they can like ants scurrying from the rain
Friends talk and hug goodbye while boys act tough playing footy not paying any attention
We head for the buses, and it feels like a stampede of teenagers fighting vigorously for a seat on the bus as though it is life or death
Teachers yell “Tuck your shirts in; tie your hair back”.
The bus door closes and immediately all shirts are released from imprisonment and girl’s hair waved around, bursting for air, then all ipods are at maximum blast.
The bus accelerates and suddenly there is a wave of monstrous chatter.
We halt at a set of traffic lights right next to another allied bus
Everyone wakes up from a sleep of boredom and gloominess, with such amazement on the faces of everyone it was like that of tourists staring through a marine glass boat
Boys are chucking any objects out the windows like two pirate ships battling for victory
Girls play no part in this sport as they text to their friends about anything
The buses part and everything quietens down a little, until someone shouts ‘SPOTTO’
Finally it’s the end of school for everyone, though tomorrow’s another day.
