Finalist in the 'Something With Bite 2010' competition
The sublime, lucent beauty of flame
Is as mysterious as it is arcane
The infinite ability to spread through air
To manifest in twirling tongues
Into a deep tunnelling lair
The heat radiates through like a magnetic field
A zone of divinity, all life has to yield
Curtains of death, flailing down, scorching all
Wrapping up prey, regardless if giant or small
Not a singe, a light itch or a sizzling phase
But the full, powered brunt of the vicious, hot blaze
From fire there is no escape
Once it has prey, that is their fate
