Mary says to me, “Read me a story”
I reply, “When I see the pink and yellow
Especially the gorgeous blue, my heart flutters far above me.”
And Mary says to me, “what does pink look like?”
I reply, “Pink is the smell of spring roses, rustling in the wind
The feeling of a million buzzing bees in harmony.”
And Mary says to me, “what does yellow look like?”
I reply, “Yellow is the softness of a new pillow, ready to lie on
The feeling that everything is going to work out.”
And Mary says to me, “what does blue look like?”
I reply, “Blue is the day, waking in the morning
That feeling of freshness after a cool summer swim.”
And Mary says, “I may be blind but it’s not so bad,
Blue is winter cold, pink is the smell of spring blooms,
Yellow is the shine of the sun,
The feeling of yes, I can see!”
