Past Tense

I'm still living in yesterday,
trying to redo all that I've done.
I'm still living in times gone by,
walking when I'm told to run.

The winds of change are blowing through
these days of endless strife.
The sands of time are falling through
the hourglass of life.

I'm still living in the days before,
'cause that's when the weather's fine.
Looking back I can see
my mistakes in an endless line.

The winds of change are blowing through,
taking with them those I love.
The sands of time are falling through,
from the boundless stars above.
