Latte With A Twist Of Poison

“Hey Mella, do you want a latte? They were 20% of at the shop down the road!” suggested Joseph my fellow actor warmly.
“Oh really? I could use one!” I said eagerly.
I was passed the small brown cardboard cup with hot liquid inside. My stomach felt like there were 100 jostling people inside bouncing off the walls. I was so nervous and jittery; I was playing the lead role of the play.
“All cast please report to stage immediately, that’s all cast report to stage immediately!” came a crackly, muffled voice from the speaker up in the corner of the room.
“Well are we all ready?” I said cheerily trying to hide my nervousness.
“We are” replied Joseph and Sarah simultaneously, “Let’s hope you do too”
All the other cast nodded unanimously glancing slyly at each other.
I stared a bit perplexed. What did they mean? ‘Let’s hope you do too’ Were they planning a surprise party from me? I didn’t know, but I had a show to perform.
I brushed those thoughts behind as I appeared on stage.
“Well hello Molly, how are you today?” I said loudly into my microphone feeling a bit dizzy.
“Very good thanks Eve!” replied Sarah dressed up as a princess.
“That’s-” I replied feeling nauseas, “n-n-i-i-c-” I didn’t finish my sentence, my knees buckled sending me to the floor. My shoulder slammed forcefully on the durable stage sending a wave of sharp excruciating pain shooting through my body. It all went black. This was not the surprise I had in mind.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. I could hear the life support machine yapping away like a mad Chihuahua. The nurse was leaning vigilantly over me injecting me with some antidote.
“Was I poisoned?” I muttered groggily tossing and turning in my bed.
“Yes deary” replied the nurse kindly.
Sarah. Joseph. The rest of the cast. They poisoned me. They must have been jealous. That’s why they said ‘We hope you make it through too’. They knew I was going to collapse.
I frowned angrily and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I hobbled unsteadily towards the main entrance and pushed the doors open. Opening my car and driving to the theatre I pondered over what to do. I crept mutely into the antique theatre. The performance had just finished. I stomped into the dressing room with contempt fuming out of my ears. Sarah, Joseph and the other were chatting happily congratulating themselves on their achievement.
“Mella’s gone, I’m better anyway!” snorted Sarah vainly. I stormed furiously into the room stunning every-one into silence.
“YOU!” I screamed pointing accusingly at Sarah and Joseph, “POISENED ME!”
I took out my phone and dialled the police telling them every-thing. Then I returned to criticize my acquaintance.
“I have called the police! How could you poison me? Jealous ignorant fools!” I fumed slapping Sarah roughly on the cheek.
The police car pulled up and bundled every-one inside. I stared on satisfied with life.
