A Girl And Her Horse

A Girl and Her Horse

The wind rustling through the grass,
The feed trough shining bright like brass.
A horses breath on your shoulder,
Or a gentle wicker as the day gets older.
The sound of a kelpies bark at your side,
And a kookaburra’s laugh as you go on a ride.
The swoosh of hooves as they canter on sand,
The passing breeze as it covers the land.
The creaking of a rusty gate as it swings back and forth,
This is the poem of a girl and her horse.
