Never Again Will I Forget Your Love

He runs at full pelt,
Tongue hanging out
the side of his mouth,
Tail wagging at 100
Kilometres per hour.
(He arrives home just
in time to beat the morning
shower).This time he
Brings a friend, but it seems
to be in an unusual bend,
Inside his mouth his friend is
A- sittin, although it seems to
have been bitten.
I send him to his room and take
Away his bone and half chewed
Broom.
I connect him to his wire trail
And collect the chewed mail.

I leave him for some time to
Think about his crime (this was
one of his many escapings) that
my gentle heart was breaking.
Another morning ,
Another chance I say as he
begins to pant.
And then off we go side by side
Out to conquer the world together
To be best friends for ever and ever,
But soon i realise where we are,
Right in front of a dangerous car.

His kind and gentle eyes are broken
As he tries to keep me woken.
Blood is dripping from his chest,
A few seconds later he looks west,
He begins barking at a bright light,
But then all of a sudden everything
goes dark and I feel cold and empty.
I wake a day later in hospital, my
Stomach is empty but soon feels full,
Everyone was there, my whole family
But one person was missing, my mother
Explained he didn’t make it but that Was
IT I COULDN’T TAKE IT!!!
He was gone i cried and cried, why did
he have to be the one to die.
I soon realised I’d never see
him again,
his gentle eyes,
his soft fur,
his wagging tail,
the expressions he gave.
I thought about all this as i
Cried at his grave.
His dark brown eyes
His beautiful nature
His many accomplished escapes
It takes such a little thing to make
you cry, or even make you want to die.

You were my friend,
My loving companion,
The saviour of my world
From the very start,
You will always be number
one in my heart.
My beloved dog.
Never again will I forget your love.
