Getting Desperate

Ears pricked up,
Eyes looking harsh,
Small cat feet in the tall green grass
Body hanging low,
Tail in the air,
She eyes the bird with a desperate stare.
Cat jumps high,
But bird gets away.
Cat goes hungry for another day.
Next day comes,
Silly Bird is back.
Cat still suffering from energy lack.
Bird can't escape.
Cat closes in.
No more eating from a rubbish bin...
