It was the day of the school picnic. Just as the children arrived in the woods, it began to rain. "The birds love the rain!" said Miss Hill. "Look at them splashing about and chasing the leaves across the puddles!" That gave Suzy an idea. "Let's race paper boats!" she said.
They were still sailing boats and jumping puddles, when the sun came out again. How fresh the woods felt! And how cool all their food was! "A rainbow!" cried Cindy. "Let's make a wish quickly!" "I love rainy day picnics" said Guy, biting into a sandwich. And the birds? They sang and whistled as if they agreed with him.
