Dearest Charlotte

It’s been a year since I last saw you
I wonder what you are doing in heaven
I wonder if you still look the same
I wonder if you still have the same smile
I think of you often
When I make paper butterfly shapes
I think of the times we did it together
When I am at the monkey bars,
I think of you kicking me in the tummy and giggling about it afterwards
I especially think about you when I look at the Green Eggs And Ham book because you were there reading it with me
I really miss you and wish you were still here
You could show me the balloons I sent you
And we could play on the monkey bars together
Would you please wait for me?

Dedicated to Charlotte Dillon on the anniversary of her passing
