Waterfalls
By Oliver Simon, age 9
On a vast rocky background, the water rushes down.
Far from the cities, and far from the towns.
Lost in nature’s beauty, a long way from civilization.
With a small creek beside it, flowing with a sensation.
If you’re looking for animals, the nearby rainforest is where to go.
For the scurrying lizards and hopping frogs, where the rainforest trees grow.
Protected by the canopy, from the dry air outside.
But all you get is cold moist air, in the rainforest’s inside.
Frogs croaking, crickets chirping, protected by the shady trees.
As the water splashes down, it cools you off quick as you please.
As the water smashes down, it splashes everywhere.
Creating little moisture droplets, that soak your clothes and hair.
I stand in awe, as I watch the water go,
Because I think waterfalls are awesome, fast or slow.
