Deep

The river was a deep, smooth blue that made me gloomy,

The trees and bushes were covered by snow,

And they reminded me of black and white television.




The ground was untouched... a fantastic quilt of white

Icing sugar covering everything in a thick layer of sweetness,

I could see no sign of anything living.




A deafening silence rang in my ears.

I heard nothing besides my heavy breathing,

My slow snail pace footstep and a

Rare ripple of the water




I reached down to touch the water,

It was a sharp, ice cold that travelled from my fingers to my toes

I sent a continuous ride of tiny waves across the water.

I touch the soft, fluffy snow that

Chills me to the heart...
