Poppies are red
Lots of soldiers are dead
Dead bodies are blue
All the enemies will rue
Watch out because an Anzac’ll pull you through to this bullet and put it through you
Blood patches everywhere
Red like a land rover
Oh dear God my life is now over
I never imagined life’s end so quick
I always hoped I’d get stabbed by a Turk with a pick
I saw Gallipolis light as it slipped out of sight
When I fell into the dark depths of hell
As the devil arised and rang his bell
To cast his loom in the space of hell filled with doom
To start a brand new world war with a big, big BOOM.
