You Taught Me To Play [Thanks So Much]

Our spirits, flowing free,
The notes in perfect harmony.
We match the words,
To the singing birds.
We change the tone,
The pitch, it moans.
A false note, echoes out,
Among the melody it shouts.
We sway and move,
To the instrument's groove.
We do not sing, only play,
The music seems to last all day.
Sheet after sheet,
Keep track of the beat.
Don't go to fast,
There's no future or past.
Across the keys our fingers flow,
Moving both fast and slow.
Notes both low and high,
Heavenly music, beneath the sky.
You taught me how,
Let me show you now.
I can play these tunes, these notes,
See how they flow and float?
The music is within me,
It's in you too, you see.
Together we can bring peace,
To ourselves, at least.
Our spirits, flowing free,
The notes in perfect harmony.
We match the words,
To the singing birds.
We change the tone,
The pitch, it moans.
A false note, echoes out,
Among the melody it shouts.
We sway and move,
To the instrument's groove.
We do not sing, only play,
The music seems to last all day.
