Dear diary, this is my very first diary. It’s my birthday today. Unfortunately my parents don’t have that much money to spend. My step dad lost his job last month, my dad won’t lend my family any money, not even nana and pop. I am at my dad’s house, he’s wishing me a happy birthday but it’s not that happy.
P.s- my name is Elizabeth, but people call me Beth for short.

Dear diary, I haven’t wrote in you for a long time. I was over at my mum’s last week. She says that I’m not aloud to bring over any presents my dad gave me. Last week I overheard mum say to my step dad that they are getting engaged. I don’t get it, they’ve been fighting, swearing and throwing glasses at each other, and yet they still have been together for ten years.

Dear diary, My life is going to be over, might as well have a new identity. Okay, so my dad and I went to the Bon Fire in Brisbane. As we were watching dad said, “You know Beth, when you’re twelve you can come stay with me” “I’ll ask mum, but you know what she’ll say” I said “No, I mean that’s when your mum can’t tell you what to do”, I didn’t know what to say then, I felt tense, now I don’t know who to choose.

Dear Beth’s diary, I know I’m not meant to be writing but mum never got me a diary, I ‘m not aloud to go over to dads. By the way, I’m her little sis Brianna, people call me Bree. Bye.

Dear Diary,
Sorry my sister wrote in you while I was at hospital. So I was talking to my dad on the phone. My foot gets stuck between the actual mattress and the bed head, my bigger sister Anita, (we call her Annie for short) called the ambulance and they come in and operate on me. Then after all that happens my stepdad comes in and smacks me.

Hey,
I see what happened , Beth left her diary at her dads house. I am Annie and I live at my dad’s house cause my mum’s so mean. I reckon Beth should live at her dad’s house to. I am at university; my dad can barely afford to send me there. When I left the house, my mum said that if I left now, I would never be able to step into her house again.

I am in Bundaberg , I am missing you very much, it is your choice if you wish to come with me. You would be living with Annie, Michelle, Nick and Lena my girlfriend.
