There were fainted sirens and muffled cries as peoples homes were left to die,
Victorias land was burning away,
The fires went on through night and day.
Crops and cattle dead,
as farmers fled.
So many memories detroyed and taken.
The lives of many shaken.
The fiery surface rose high.
The black cat now roamed the sky.
It was a nightmare that kept on going,
never stopping never slowing.
The vivid red flames danced all night,
giving so many people an awful fright.
Round and round it shed its light,
shinning, shinning ever so bright.
So many people left alone,
without a family, many moan.
No-one will ever forget those tragic days,
when everything was burnt away.
