Farewell

The summer breeze lifts and plays with my hair,
Reminding me of times when you were there.
I’m a drop in a sea of sadness and grief,
Shedding my own sea of bitter tears.

The music stays with me for the rest of the day,
And that summer breeze follows to linger and stay,
In the hearts of the shattered, drying their tears,
Always in memory for all future years.

The shaking of hands and the comforting hugs,
The shadows on faces of people you loved.
Your beautiful family and friends from your life,
Your tear-streaked sons and especially your wife.

And as shadows grow long in the hot summer day,
While the breeze sings soft lullabies and makes the trees sway.
And the fiery sun casts out columns of gold,
May you rest in heaven and never grow old.
