A Broken Light

A broken light. Discarded, unloved. Once used, now unseen, unwanted, unnoticed; once loved, now gone. It was used but it let them down, just like us humans who let down others too. We go till we have more heart, no more sole, we just can't make it. Then they discard us, like a bit of used paper, lonely and waiting to be picked up and helped to our feet again. A broken light, just like us; stumbling through the darkness until someone throws the switch. A broken light, wanted once more.
