Finalist in the 'Timeless Tales 2011' competition
Death offers you an inviting hand.
An evil grin spreads across his ageless, immortal face.
He lures you in with long, bony skeletal fingers,
He taunts you with images of your deep, dark secret past.
He scares you with your worst nightmares and fears,
Death wants you for his own.
Death sends a spine-tingling chill down your back,
His face filled with menacing glee.
He is heartless, merciless to one who falls into his hand,
You are close to being drawn in,
Into the darkness before you,
To the land of death.
Death makes a lunge, snatches, holds,
You are another to fall into Death's hand.
