The endless day meets the night; its arms open wide in sorrow
A tear rolls down its moonlit cheek, waiting for tomorrow
The warm hug helps ease the pain but only slightly
No-one will ever know the times that could have been
Only photos remain and the memories that came with them
The heart aches for someone that isn’t there can’t be touched
Someone can be gone in a split second
Lost, but can never be replaced
Everyone must try to get on with their lives
But a new day always comes back around again
