I Am A Candle

My heart is a flame,
My emotions
Wax
I am neither strong
Nor am I weak,
But yet I stand,
I am at my peak.
Ever so slowly
Do I melt,
As one like myself,
Cannot stay upheld.
My heart is a flame,
My emotions wax.
My flame flares,
As a heart beats
With love,
But with every flare,
A relaxing calm replaces.
My heart is a flame,
My emotions wax.
I may be gentle at first,
But drip by drip, anger unfolds
Until a pool of wax
Is now covering my dish.
Hot, liquid still,
But as that hardens,
Anger recoils.
My heart is a flame,
Emotions, wax.
A candle,
My life,
Its flame,
My heart,
My emotions,
Wax.
