WATER RAGE

Horses and cattle are stranded
Dogs and cats abandoned
Homes and businesses are destroyed
And the water levels rapidly rise
Dad is trapped on the shed
And mum is remembering when she wed
Grabbing photographs and family treasures
Many unaccounted for and now missing
As the flood water subsides
People start to rebuild their lives
Repairs will be ongoing, the river fiercely flowing
The damage is catastrophic
Hope is on the horizon, everyone sending aid
Our town will resurrect, better than first laid
Our family is safe, we have no home
But above all, we are certainly not alone
