WAR
By Dylan Allwood
The hurtful wounds of battle
The heartache of a man
Guns next to their ears
The dust in their eyes, like dirt on a face
The noise of an explosion, like a thunder clap
And the dark heat of fire, like a lava tap
Soldiers who die during war
Never see their family any more
News that comes home never sounds good
Germans always putting up a fight
Russians forge on, what an amazing sight
We honour these men, who suffered or died
They honour their countries with their lives
