Like the last street light burning,
Quickly fading out,
A glimpse of hope in an otherwise dark world.
Like the first star in the night sky,
Alone and frightened,
Waiting in the dark.
Like the last minutes,
Painful and slow,
Excruciating to bear.
Like the tallest tower,
Isolated and frozen,
full of life but alone,
Like snow falling,
Beautiful and pure,
Covering all the imperfections for just a minute.
