Hour after hour she stared at her twin,
Reflection showing her flaws but nothing within.
Her eyes had seen the perfection galore,
“Girlfriend”, “Dolly” scattered across the floor.
Nothing could stop the influential thoughts attacking,
Controlling her life like a puppet on a string.
She used to be confident in her skin,
Now you barely see her grin.
Tanned skin and an airbrushed smile,
Fuelling the world with a brand new style.
Her mind being submerged in manipulation,
She thinks of nothing but gaining reputation.
How could this happen to such young teens?
It’s the influence of television, radio and magazines.
To a company it’s just advertising,
To this teenage girl, it was everything.
