There’s a cosy little house
In the corner of our 40 acre place
It’s full of all your special things
It’s your home, it’s your own space
Your worn-out hat sits on the table
Next to the lounge are your old shoes
The till for the shop is next to that
Near the lamp you never seem to use
All the photos bring back memories
And the flat-screen really stands out
In the kitchen at the back of the cupboard
There’s some stale food you’ve forgotten about
In the garage there’s that dreadful wheelie bin
You’d empty down at your shop everyday
Behind the counter there’s your broom and your chair
Where your customers would give you a ‘G’day’
There’s a picture of your beloved dog, Jake
Some fruit from the trees that you grew
In a bag are presents from you grandchildren
Your own house contains everything but you
