Hiking down a slope that can change your life,
Struggling to breathe, hiking in strife.
The snow wrapping us in its cold,
Slipping down a slide covered in ice, no need to take hold.
Sliding down the cold, wet ice, seeing it crystal clear,
Never ending white, nothing else to be seen, no where far or near.
Stumbling down white, smelling its purity,
It crumbles and melts at our fingertips, revealing its sensitivity.
Coming closer to the edge, our hearts beating fast,
The time of ease has come and past.
Tasting the adrenaline, feeling its rush,
All in the silence of a single hush.
Thump! Thump! Our hearts beating faster than ever now,
Too late. No time to think why or how.
Thump! Thump! Wildly running is our pace,
As we hold hands and take our leap of faith.
