Death

Death
It claws at my door
Every scratch denting my home; my heart
Hurting those around me
Enclosing me in its endless cloaks
Darkness, betraying all rays of light
Its eerie silence muffling my ears
Spinning me round at a constant pace
Emptying the contents of my heart
And scattering them across a bare plain
Winning me over
Like a competitor in a game
It grieves me to the bottom
By flashing elated pictures of my loved ones
In front of my panicked eyes
My pain is its food
It is hungry for young pain,
For my pain
Get away from my door
Death
