As the day grew into a shimmering summer morning warm and still,
cicadas shrilling all throughout the morning.
From the heavy headed Daffodils to the rich eucalypt trees,
the bees murmuring over the immaculate flower beds.
The well trimmed lawns scorched under the sweltering sun,
and the thirsty hydrangeas parched.
As the mounted cottage stands on the steadfast,
lonely and isolated.
The soft wind whips past and whispers,
too which only the house hears.
The tall trees stand tall and strong,
swaying softly left to right.
Making a tune for the bees to hum to.
Working together like little flock of birds,
constantly changing the order in which they fly.
Giving everyone a turn at being in front.
