One Storm I’ll Never Forget

The sky is turning black,
The water dripping down my roof,
I see lightning in the sky,
Wet mud on my floor, something splish, splashing
I tip toe down the stairs
Windows shutting and slamming,
I wait, listen….
A door opens,
My heart is racing like a motorbike,
Then, I hear no noise at all,
Just a little drip, drop,
I slam the door shut, lock it and race back to bed,
Ah, my heart is slowly beating again,
I’m in my nice, warm blanket all snuggled up.
