Where will the orphans and widows all go?
And all the unborn who will never know
Their fathers who died because bombs burned their skin
Victims of a war that they had no say in
How can the west bear to turn a blind eye,
Pretend it’s not happening and sleep well at night?
Why must religion cause such a divide?
And who really cares if you’re black or you’re white?
Who will protect the defenceless and needy
When their food is gone and they’re on the streets bleeding?
But who gives a thought when riches they beckon
Oil control is worth death and destruction
So now that you know will you too just ignore?
Or will you take heart and unite for this cause?
This generation can get up and act
Or be like the rest and just turn its back.
