Farewell, Friend

"Life is a non-stopping journey,
It goes on and on and forever"

You put your hand on top of my knee
And quietly, said those words to me

We were friends since we were children
I've never believed that one day we would part
The fact of your leaving struck my heart
My world fell blank, it was too sudden

You kept telling me "cheer up, I will be back"
But we both knew you will not
We heard the train roaring on its track
We hoped time to stop

Hands joined, trembling
We found ourselves in each other's eyes

Farewell, friend, I wish you a lovely journey
And remember,no tears, as you have promised me
