Young hearts beating as loud as drums,
In rows and platoons here they come,
Stocked with artillery their nervous and scared,
Marching while thinking of those they loved and cared,
Louder and louder the sound of bullets grows,
Closer and closer they spot allies and foes,
Taking orders and battle stations,
Some lose fear while others lose patience,
Not willing to die but eager to fight,
They use their skills and all their might,
Sacrificing their lives for what they believe,
Honour and sadness their families receive,
Recorded in history their sacrifices will be,
What they did for us to be free.
