A Devastating Drought

The land is so parched and dry.
I just want to break down and cry.
Why won’t it end with much needed rain?
Pour down and take away the suffering and pain.
The desperation of the farmers is devastating.
Their crops are dying because of low irrigation.
Why must the animals get sick and die?
The weather reporters sadly lie.
How much more can the farmer stand?
As all is taken from his beloved land.
Hour by hour, day by day.
All that he has is taken away.
The farmers life has become completely unfair.
Because of the damage of the sun’s bright glare.
I hope the drought will come to an end.
Then the farmer’s life will be on the mend.
