Mist

It rolls in, covering my dirty feet and floats silently around my body,
Tiny silver droplets cling to my wispy hair as it flows mystically through the trees
It dampens the gentle air, eliminating all possible sound,
Little animals scurry to burrows to warm their miniature noses
As I stand; transfixed, watching it dance
It dampens all my senses until I am no longer aware
It turns everything into a world of silver tinged grey,
And while it wanders aimlessly everything is lost within its trance
As the sun scrambles through the clouds with blossoming golden rays
It collects all the clinging haze and pulls me to my senses
Petite silky strands of it, that have escaped the sun’s invasion
Laughing and flickering between the shadows pirouette towards the sea
It is gone now and I am once again
Standing here all alone amid the shady trees
Every day it comes and every day it goes
To me it is like a web, a web for catching dreams...
