We Are Like Rivers

I think we are like rivers,
As we come from the same apex we flow
Further and further away from each other.
So from far away we look like a star.
Because sometimes we pool up or dry out
And waste all the water, but
Most of us just keep on running,
Carving the world where we have stepped.
Though sometimes we rush with the power of horses
We can also trickle, or pass away slowly,
Because we are, for the moment, tired of running.
But we'll pull along, on our separate paths.
Even if we head out with different lives
Running away to loney places,
I like to think, in the very end
That we were running to the same place.
