Saving A Soul

When someone writes a story, it fills up all the page;
When someone sings a song, it brightens up their day.
When someone takes a photo, the memory’s there for keeps;
When someone reads a book, it really helps them sleep.
But to do these things in glee, you need a happy heart,
One that glows with happiness; a true masterpiece, like art.
So what happens when you’re severed, your soul is not one piece,
You slump against the dusty wall, crying yourself to sleep.
You ponder what the future holds, yet loath it all the same
You wish the day would stop at once; you’re tired of this game.
You need someone to save your soul, resuscitate your heart
So you can put on a happy face and go back to the start.
Although it’s never really that easy, when you know you’re scarred for life,
You need to think it over, and forget about the strife.
A friend is always a good start, to making your life whole,
Once you have that down pat, you’re on the pathway to saving a soul.
