A Change Of Life

There was a man whose name was Jake, who gambled a lot of times and was selfish. He would do the opposite of good things. He didn’t care if he was doing bad things because he had lots of good things happening to him; so he thought he would just do bad things. He did that for 9 years, until one day when he accidentally pushed someone and they fell in the road. That person was run over. He felt guilty, 3 days later he didn’t care about it anymore. 2 hours later he received a message saying, ‘Dear Jake, you will be going to court so get a lawyer and get prepared’. He still didn’t care. When he went to court he said, “I don’t care if you do anything to me, I’m not going to do it.” He went straight to the door until the security guard stopped him.The judge said, “I see. Because you pushed a man onto the road, I sentence you to 3 years jail.” Jake stood up for himself, saying “Please, is there anything else I could do?” The judge said, “No, but you also have to pay the fines so we could help that poor man.” Jake for the first time in 9 years had tears coming out. He got bullied while he was in jail; he thought in his head about all the money he had wasted when he was gambling that whole time, he did not know what to do. In his room, his mate was escaping. His mate offered him to come with him. Jake refused, “No I will not do bad things anymore.” His 3 years was up, so he started to job search. He signed up for being a mechanic and he worked 10 hours a day. He made $10,693. He made enough to pay the fines and he started to feel good about himself. He went to church every Sunday and prayed for people. One day he remembered to confess, so he went to church confessing. He said to the priest “I’m confessing because all these years I’ve been making wrong choices, like gambling, being rude and more. I regret all those things I have done.” The priest said, “I forgive you.” 2 years later he met a woman who he liked, he didn’t just like her for her looks, he liked her because she had a nice personality. 1 year later he got married and had a baby that he loved. He was proud of himself because he made a change to his life. The End
